Peacefully at Summit Place Long Term Care on Friday February 20th, 2026. Born in Owen Sound on December 5th, 1947, William Robert Farmer of Owen Sound, was in his 79th year.

Beloved husband of Penny Farmer (nee Blair) of Owen Sound. Loving father of Jeff Farmer (Pauline) of Kingston and Erin Farmer of Montreal, Stepfather of Suzanne Meinen (William) and Jennifer Havens. Cherished Poppa of Jaycee, Jocelyn, Owen, Juliet, Guillaume and Step Poppa of Noah, Anneka, Asher, Elyse, Barak and Judah. Dear brother of Dawn Ironside (Ken), Joy Playford (Marty) and Jim Farmer (Diane). Brother-in-law of Jo Donaghey, Pat Kay, Cathy Wright, Mary Farmer, Gerry Blair (Mary), Ivor Wright (Lennie) and Cheryl Buck. Bill will also be missed by his son-in-law Alex Perrine and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Predeceased by his wife Sharon Farmer (Wright), his parents Jack and Jean (nee Marshall) Farmer, brothers-in-law Jim Wright, Brian Donoghey, Mickey Kay and Brad Buck and by his sisters-in-law Dode Hall (Bob) and Marg Campbell (Rob).A Celebration of life to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at the Owen Sound Legion Branch #6, on March 21st, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with reception to follow from 2 – 4 PM.
