Contest Rules
BAYSHORE BROADCASTING CORPORATION
GENERAL CONTEST RULES
Effective Date: February 24th 2026
These General Contest Rules (the “Rules”) apply to all contests, promotions, sweepstakes, giveaways, games, draws, and on-air, online or in-person promotions (each a “Contest”) conducted by Bayshore Broadcasting Corporation and its radio stations (collectively, “Bayshore,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), unless otherwise stated in Contest-specific rules (“Specific Rules”). If there is any conflict between these Rules and any Specific Rules, the Specific Rules shall govern.
These Rules apply to all Bayshore radio stations, including but not limited to: 89.3 CFOS FM, Mix 106.5, Country 93, 97.9 and 91.9 the Bruce, 97.7 Max FM, Country 104.9, 89.1 Max FM, Country 105, Country 102, and any future stations, rebrands, or frequency changes.
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
No purchase is necessary to enter or win any Contest.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Unless otherwise stated in Specific Rules, Contests are open only to individuals who:
- are legal residents of Ontario,
- are within the terrestrial broadcast listening area of the participating station(s),
- have reached the age of majority in Ontario at the time of entry, and
- comply with these Rules and any applicable Specific Rules.
Employees, contractors, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of Bayshore Broadcasting Corporation, its affiliated companies, contest sponsors or prize suppliers, and their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, spouses) and anyone residing in the same household are not eligible to enter or win.
If a Contest is expressly stated to be open to minors, parental or legal guardian consent will be required and any required documents must be signed by the parent or guardian.
3. HOW TO ENTER
Contest entry methods will be communicated through on-air announcements, Contest webpages, social media posts, mobile apps, or other promotional materials.
Entry methods may include, but are not limited to:
- calling a contest line
- being a designated caller number
- text message entry
- online ballot or entry form
- email entry
- in-person entry at events or remotes
- participation through social media
- any other method specified by Bayshore
Entries must be received by the stated deadline. Bayshore is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or corrupted entries. Automated, robotic, bulk, scripted, or fraudulent entries are prohibited and may result in disqualification.
Bayshore reserves the right to limit entries, verify entrant identity, and determine eligibility at its sole discretion.
4. WINNER LIMITATIONS
Unless otherwise stated:
- An individual may not win more than one Contest on one station within any 30-day period.
- Only one winner per household is permitted within any 30-day period.
Bayshore may impose additional win-frequency restrictions for specific Contests, including higher-value prizes, as outlined in Specific Rules.
5. PRIZES
All prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prizes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and no substitutions will be made by the winner. Bayshore reserves the right to substitute a prize or any portion thereof with one of equal or greater value if a prize becomes unavailable.
Any stated prize value is approximate. Winners are responsible for all taxes, fees, gratuities, insurance, travel documents, transportation, accommodations, and any other costs not expressly included.
Prizes may not be resold. Bayshore is not responsible for cancelled, postponed, delayed, or modified events or experiences forming part of a prize.
If a prize includes guests, guests may be required to sign release forms. Minors must have parent or guardian consent.
6. PRIZE CLAIMING AND PICKUP
Unless otherwise stated:
- Prizes must be picked up at the station office of the station that conducted the Contest.
- Winners have 60 days from the date of winning to claim their prize during regular business hours.
- Prizes will not be mailed or delivered unless expressly stated.
- Photo identification may be required.
- Winners may designate an alternate pickup person with prior station approval.
Failure to claim a prize within the stated period may result in forfeiture.
7. WINNER SELECTION AND ODDS
Winner selection methods will be described in Specific Rules and may include random draw, call-in selection, judging, or other mechanics.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and/or participants.
If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond, is ineligible, or declines the prize, Bayshore reserves the right to select an alternate winner or cancel the prize.
8. SKILL-TESTING QUESTION AND RELEASES
As a condition of winning, winners must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question without assistance and may be required to sign a declaration of eligibility, liability release, and publicity release. Documentation may be completed electronically.
9. PUBLICITY AND CONTENT RIGHTS
By entering, participants grant Bayshore the irrevocable right to use their name, likeness, image, voice, recordings, statements, and biographical information for promotional, advertising, and marketing purposes in any media, worldwide, in perpetuity, without compensation, unless prohibited by law.
If an entry includes photos, videos, audio, or written content, the entrant confirms they have the legal right to submit the content and grants Bayshore a royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute the content for Contest and promotional purposes.
10. MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
By entering, participants consent to Bayshore using their information for Contest administration, marketing, research, and promotional purposes, subject to Bayshore’s Privacy Policy and applicable law. Participants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
11. CONDUCT AND DISQUALIFICATION
Bayshore reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who violates these Rules, tampers with the Contest, engages in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or otherwise undermines the integrity of the Contest.
All Bayshore decisions regarding Contests are final and binding.
12. TECHNICAL ISSUES
Bayshore is not responsible for technical failures or issues related to phone systems, text delivery, websites, forms, email, social media platforms, or any other system that may affect entry or participation.
Contests conducted on or through third-party platforms are not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by those platforms.
13. LIABILITY RELEASE
By entering, participants release Bayshore, its affiliates, sponsors, and their respective employees and agents from any liability arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize.
14. MODIFICATION AND TERMINATION
Bayshore reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any Contest or these Rules at any time, for any reason, including to comply with applicable laws.
15. GOVERNING LAW
All Contests are subject to applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.
16. AVAILABILITY
These Rules are available at bayshorebroadcasting.ca/contestrules and at station offices during regular business hours.
APPENDIX A
ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR HIGH-VALUE, TRAVEL, EXPERIENCE, OR CASH-EQUIVALENT PRIZES
This Appendix A applies only to Contests where it is expressly referenced in the Contest’s Specific Rules or promotional materials. In the event of any conflict between this Appendix and the General Contest Rules, this Appendix shall govern for the applicable Contest only.
A1. HIGH-VALUE PRIZES
For the purposes of this Appendix, a “High-Value Prize” may include, but is not limited to:
- travel packages (airfare, hotels, resorts, cruises, festivals, destination events),
- vehicles or vehicle leases,
- significant cash or cash-equivalent prizes,
- season tickets or long-term access passes,
- experiential prizes involving physical activity,
- prizes with an approximate retail value exceeding $1,000 CAD (or such other threshold as Bayshore may determine).
A2. TRAVEL-RELATED PRIZES
If a prize includes travel or accommodations:
- Travel dates, accommodations, carriers, routes, seating, and itineraries are at the sole discretion of Bayshore and/or the prize supplier.
- Travel must be completed by the dates specified or the prize may be forfeited.
- Winners and their guests are solely responsible for obtaining and possessing all required documentation, including passports, visas, vaccinations, identification, and insurance.
- Bayshore is not responsible for delays, cancellations, substitutions, acts of God, labour disputes, government actions, weather conditions, or any other event outside its control.
- Any unused portion of a travel prize is forfeited and has no cash value.
- Travel insurance is not included unless expressly stated.
- Winners acknowledge that travel involves inherent risks and voluntarily assume all such risks.
A3. EXPERIENCE-BASED OR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PRIZES
If a prize includes physical activity, participation in an event, or an experience that may involve risk:
- Winners and guests participate entirely at their own risk.
- Bayshore makes no representations regarding safety conditions, training, supervision, or fitness requirements.
- Winners are responsible for ensuring they are physically capable of participating.
- Bayshore is not responsible for injury, illness, death, loss, or damage arising from participation.
- Winners and guests may be required to sign additional waivers or releases imposed by third-party providers.
A4. CASH AND CASH-EQUIVALENT PRIZES
If a prize includes cash, prepaid cards, gift cards, account credits, or similar monetary equivalents:
- Cash prizes may be delivered by cheque, electronic transfer, or other method determined by Bayshore.
- Gift cards and prepaid cards are subject to the issuer’s terms and conditions.
- Bayshore is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or expired cards.
- Winners are solely responsible for any tax implications arising from receipt of the prize.
A5. SPONSOR-PROVIDED PRIZES
Where a prize is supplied in whole or in part by a third-party sponsor:
- Bayshore is not the manufacturer or provider of the prize and makes no warranties, express or implied.
- Any issues relating to the prize itself must be addressed directly with the prize supplier.
- Sponsors may require winners to agree to additional terms, conditions, or releases.
A6. FORCE MAJEURE
Bayshore shall not be liable or responsible if a Contest or prize (or any portion thereof) is delayed, cancelled, modified, or rendered impractical due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, pandemics, government restrictions, labour disputes, system failures, or venue cancellations.
A7. GUEST REQUIREMENTS
If a prize permits or requires guests:
- Guests must meet any age, eligibility, or participation requirements imposed by Bayshore or third-party providers.
- Guests may be required to sign liability and publicity releases.
- Guests under the age of majority require parent or legal guardian consent.
- Winners are responsible for the conduct of their guests at all times.
A8. NO ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
Winners acknowledge that they will not receive compensation of any kind for unused prize components, substituted elements, delays, cancellations, or perceived inconvenience.
A9. INDEMNIFICATION
To the fullest extent permitted by law, winners agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bayshore Broadcasting Corporation, its affiliates, sponsors, prize suppliers, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of the prize.
A10. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By accepting a prize governed by this Appendix, the winner confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to this Appendix A and all applicable Contest Rules.
