Stella Jones of Owen Sound at the age of seventy-eight was sent to heaven after a short and courageous battle with cancer at Grey Bruce Hospice – Chapman House in Owen Sound on March 5^th, 2026.

She was born in Toronto on September 25^th, 1947 to parents Vincent Marosek and Maria (nee Olszowka) Marosek.

Stella is survived by Ken, her loving husband of fifty-eight years, daughter Kim and son Ken (Berna) along with grand-daughters Katie, Jade (Kyle), Paige and Alison (Austin). She will always be in the memories of all her extended families and dear friends.

Stella worked for many years as a registration clerk and later continued in her retirement as a loving volunteer at Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound primarily supporting the “Breast Screening department”.

Our shining star may have left us in body….but she will never leave our hearts.

A funeral service to celebrate Stella’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, March 28^th, 2026, at 12:00 pm, with visitation two hours prior. Followed by a reception at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Grey Bruce Hospice Foundation – Chapman House, Brightshores Health System- Owen Sound or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Condolences can be sent to Stella’s family by visiting her memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
