Peacefully on June 14, 2026 at Health Sciences North Hospital Sudbury in his 79th year. Predeceased by his parents Sam and Myrtle McKim (nee Bumstead).

Very loved by his friend and partner of 43 years Chris Blake, his sister Sandra Johnstone, nieces Cindy Gervais (Guy), Cheryl Johnstone and great nieces and nephew Lenore, Sarah, Hobbes and
Christopher. Warmly remembered by Blake and Marie Bonner.

Mike was born in Meaford and attended Elementary and High School there. Following a few years working in banking in the St. Marys area Mike returned to Meaford in the early 1980’s where his skilled hobby of refurbishing antique furniture became Mike’s Refinishing
which in time operated out of King’s Court Antique Market Thornbury co-managed by Mike.

Family and friends were valued by Mike … a reliable companion he enjoyed a coffee chat recalling stories of a past Meaford. helping on a project and annual camping trips to see folks.

In retirement computers and techie toys became his passion readily helping his senior circle with their cell phones or tablets.

In keeping with Mikes wishes there will be no funeral and cremation has taken place assisted by Simple Wishes of the North Inc.

The family are thankful for the attentive care given to Mike these past few weeks at HSN Hospital and last year at Meaford Hospital.

For those who so choose donations in memory of Mike to Meaford Hospital Foundation, Health Sciences North Foundation or a Food Bank of choice would be appreciated.
