It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Percy Colin Morris at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Born in Owen Sound on March 9, 1941, Percy Morris of Southampton, was in his 86th year.
Dearly loved by his partner Gail Wolfe. Proud brother of Beth Campbell and her husband Bill, and Ralph Morris and his wife Doris. Percy will also be missed by Gail’s family as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who cherished him very much.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Carol Morris (nee McMillan), his parents John and Helen Morris (nee Spence), his brothers Don, Ed, Dane, Ben, and Bob, his sisters-in-law Sue Morris and Sharon Morris and his brother-in-law Doug McMillan.
Percy was raised on a mixed farm in Derby Township where hard work, responsibility and helping others was part of everyday life. Percy enjoyed a long and respected career for 35 years with Co-Operators Insurance and his own company Percy Morris Insurance in Owen Sound.
He was active in baseball, golf, pool, Lion’s club, Rotary and Grey Bruce Home Builders Association, where he held executive positions. In the 24 years spent in Lady Lake in Florida, he became an avid shuffle board player and made many new wonderful friends. Percy will be remembered for his sense of humor, loyalty and generosity.
A special Thank You to Dr. Jeffery, Dr. Khan, nurses and staff at Southampton Hospital for the kind and compassionate care of Percy.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. A Come and Go Visitation to Celebrate Percy’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 464 Chatsworth, 339 Garafraxa St., Chatsworth on Monday July 27, from 2 – 5 p.m., with memories being shared at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
