With much sadness, the family of Myrtle Joan Bernice Kidd (nee Stevens) announce her passing in Owen Sound on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. She was in her 85th year.

Beloved wife and best friend of George Kidd, of Holland Centre for 65 years. Proud mother of Shannon (Dan) Stewart, Kimberley Kidd Kitagawa, Carolyn (John) Christie, Heather (Gary) Stirling, and Erwin Kidd. Cherished grandmother of Connor (Tonya), Emerson (Elicia), Matthew, Emily (Dave), Heather (Ronan), Jack, George, Andrew, Carolyn, Laura (Marcus), Hugh (Dawn) and Brandt. Cherished great-grandmother to Edwin, Eleanor, Alfie, Izzy, and Wren. Dear sister of Isabel Porter. Myrtle will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by her parents Millie and Clifford Stevens, her siblings Josephine (Melville) Cruickshank, David (Kathleen) Stevens and Betty (Howard) Gunn, brother-in-law Norman Porter and her son-in-law David Kitagawa.

A funeral service to celebrate Myrtle’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. A reception will follow the service. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Chatsworth.
