Mary Rosalie Johnston

Mary, (nee Sims), passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Meaford Hospital on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the age of 77.
Born on August 27, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William & Rosalie (nee Knight) Sims.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Orville in 2007.
She was the much-loved mother of Tom (Sally) of England and Michael (Angela) of Providence Bay, Ontario. Mary thought the world of her grandchildren Nathan, Andrew, Zachary, Spencer & Parker.
She was predeceased by her siblings Carol (1994), Barbara (2004) and Robert (2023) and remembered by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary enjoyed playing cards and volunteering at Riverside Community Centre breakfasts. For many years she baked pies for Almond’s Fruit Stand. She and Orville made several trips to England as well as taking in the marvel of the Rocky Mountains.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Mary’s Life will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Riverside Community Centre, 157707 – 7th Line, Meaford from 2 until 4 p.m. A private service of committal and interment beside her beloved husband Orville will take place at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
