Maria Gunnis (Kraus), in her 91st year, passed away peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Beloved wife Thomas H. Gunnis for 63 years. Born in Gundersheim, West Germany, to the late Joseph and Gretchen Kraus, Maria immigrated to Canada in 1958. Predeceased by one sister Gerta Kestel 2011. Survived by one brother Gunther Kraus, Gundersheim, Germany. She was the cherished daughter-in-law of the late Harvey and Edna Gunnis.
The funeral service will be held in the Jack & Thompson Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Wiarton, Ontario at 2:30 p.m. If desired, donations to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
