Peacefully at Lee Manor on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Born in Chatsworth, Ontario on May 19, 1935, Mabel Lorraine Danard (nee Gamble) of Owen Sound, was in her 92nd year.

Beloved wife of the late Howard Danard. Loving mother of Rick (Kelly) Danard, Marcia (Tim) Brown, and daughter-in-law Karen Danard (late Harley Danard) all of Owen Sound. Cherished grandma of Nolan Danard, Alana Durand (Sean), Trevor Danard (Roxanne Hamilton), Alysha West (Michael), Bryan Danard (Payal), Michael Brown (Clarissa), Matthew Brown; and great-grandmother of twin girls Lauryn, and Emmi West, Connor and Evan Danard, Gunnar, Georgia and Rhett Durand, and Rosalie Brown.

Dear sister of Joyce Barfoot (formerly Cook) and Mary Turner, and sister-in-law of Maizie Gamble, Marion Rourke (Ken) and Bruce Danard. Mabel will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Malcolm and Dorothy Gamble (nee Barber), her brothers Mac Gamble and Allen Gamble, and by her in-laws Gordon Cook, Milton Barfoot, Wallace, Jemima and Audrey Danard.

A memorial service to celebrate Mabel’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Kristal McGee officiating with visitation from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m., followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
