Peacefully at Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce – Chapman House on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Born in Sydenham Township, Ontario on August 14, 1934, Lawrence “Lorne” Louis Armstrong of Owen Sound, was in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of Phyllis Armstrong (nee Vaughan) of 64 years. Loving father of Michele Rideout (late Lester), Kevin Armstrong (Bonnie), John Armstrong (Cory) and Wanda Fast (Bob). Cherished grandpa of Lester VL, Shauna (Morgan), Jack (Alex), Kalie, Mackenzie and Veronica (Brian) and great – grandpa of Callan. Dear brother of Joan Engel (late Fred) and Helen Murray (Albert) and brother-in-law of Eileen Armstrong. Lorne will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Robert and Dymphna Armstrong (nee Duggan), siblings Bob Armstrong (Eva), Moira Jacob (Bill), Ken Armstrong, Margaret Post (Larry), Pauline McArthur (Bill) and Gerry Armstrong.

Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s & The Missions Catholic Church, 554 15th St E, Owen Sound, on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11a.m., with Fr. John Schnurr officiating, followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Irish Block Road.
