Passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Hospice Chapman House in Owen Sound on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Born in Cobourg on July 24, 1948, Larry Ross Clapperton, was in his 78th year.

Beloved husband and best friend of Mary Jane (nèe Welton) for 55 years. Proud father of Adrienne Clapperton and Susan Clapperton-Yarde (Jeffrey), both of Owen Sound. Treasured grandfather of Aidan (Kennedy), Avery and Shontelle (Dale). Loving brother of Carole Clapperton and Ken Clapperton (Lolly), and brother-in-law of Jack Welton (Judy).  Dear uncle of Trevor Clapperton (Dawn), Murray Clapperton (Nancy), Kelly Hickerson (Andrew), Jennifer Welton (Jann Davey). Larry will also be missed by his extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Ross and Mildred Clapperton, parents-in-law Bill and Bernice Welton, and his grandson Cooper.

A memorial visitation and celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6, 1450 2nd Ave. W., Owen Sound, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 4- 8 p.m. with remembrances starting at 6 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
