Larry Joseph Foucault

Peacefully, at home in Port Elgin on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 in his 75th year. Larry, beloved Dad of Jessica and her husband Eric Ronholm. Loving Papa of Victoria and Wyatt. Dear brother of the late Ronny, the late Danny, Leo Jr., Marie and her husband Terry Watmough, and Lisa and her spouse Ray Rhines. Predeceased by his parents Leo Foucault and Betty (nee DePlonty). Larry will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Larry was a member of the 34th Technical Squadron of the Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers Reserves in Sault Ste Marie. He worked at Algoma Steel and at Ontario Hydro/Bruce Power for “34 years and 34 days”. He was a proud PWU member.
His interests were playing hockey as a goalie, bowling, reading & researching & listening to his vast music collection. He was a poet and writer.
The family wishes to send a special Thank You to Dr Gleba, VON current and past staff, Care Partners overnight team and First Light staff for all making Larry’s wish of staying home happen. Thank you to the wonderful staff at London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital, Southampton and Owen Sound hospitals who have all been a part of Larry’s care over the years. The family also wishes to thank the friend network who have supported us.
Larry took great pride in being a father and “Papa” to his grandchildren.
He is now with the Lord, with his vision restored he can now watch over us all.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 5:00pm at St. Joseph Parish, 920 Wellington Street, Port Elgin with interment to take place in Sault Ste. Marie, at a later date.
Memorial donations to Allies for Alley Catz or CNIB for Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada would be appreciated by the family.
