Grace Myrtle Lougheed

Grace passed away peacefully at the Meaford Long Term Care Home ‘PeopleCare’ with her loving daughters by her side on Friday, April 18, 2025 in her 91st year.
Born in Osprey Township on January 23, 1935, Grace was a daughter of the late John and Hannah (nee Weldrick) Radley.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Graham Lougheed on May 17, 2023.
Grace was the much-loved mother of Pat Thornton (Jim), Kim Lee (Mike), and Valerie Morrison. She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Lougheed, son-in-law Randy Morrison, and will be remembered fondly by Gord Dinsmore.
Grace was the proud Grandma of Terri, Alana, Lee Marie, Amanda, Andrew, Brandon (Keith), Samantha (Marko), and Spencer (Liz). She was the wonderful Great Grandma of nine.
She is survived by her sister Mildred Lougheed (late Dean), and was predeceased by 9 siblings. Grace will be fondly remembered by the Lougheed family and by many nieces, nephews and their families.
Some of Grace’s favourite pastimes were tending to her gardens and flowerbeds, listening to country music and dancing whenever she had the opportunity. She also enjoyed decorating cakes and making special cakes for special occasions, but she was most famous for her carrot cake. After their retirement Grace and Graham were able to enjoy some time together travelling. She was a kind and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Grace loved babysitting and helping local families with childcare, even shift workers. She treated all of the children in her home like they were her own, and they became part of the family.
Family will receive friends for a public visitation on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 6 until 8 p.m. A private family service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, followed by a service of committal and interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
