Gordon Allan 'Gord' Dinsmore

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Gordon Dinsmore on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Georgian Triangle Hospice in Collingwood after a very short battle with cancer at the age of 67.
Gordon was the beloved Father of Melinda (Derek) & Ted (Tori) and the very proud Grandpa of his favourite oldest granddaughter Olivia, his favourite middle granddaughter Chelsea & favourite youngest granddaughter Sydney. He will be dearly missed by his brothers George & Ray and nieces & nephews, especially Kenny, Amelia & Virginia.
Born on October 22, 1957, a son of the late Kenneth Dinsmore, Gordon was raised on the Meaford/Thornbury Townline. Known for his passion for cars; Gord was the owner of Meaford Auto Wreckers for over 40 years, which his son Ted will continue to operate. He was a hard-working man who truly loved what he did.
Gord was fortunate to have many friends who he enjoyed spending time with. He especially looked forward to hunting season and his annual fishing trip at the French River.
He will be remembered by his kids & granddaughters for the famous “tickle scratch” back rubs. Also, for his great sense of humour and amazing joke telling ability. Even right up until the end of his life he was still making us laugh.
We would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the amazing nurses & doctors at the Owen Sound and Meaford Hospital who were involved in Dad’s care. As well as, the fabulous nurses & volunteers at the Georgian Triangle Hospice in Collingwood who made his last days enjoyable.
Gord’s family will receive friends at Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford for a public visitation on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 5 until 8 p.m. A private interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
