With the love and support of his family, Fred passed away peacefully at Chapman House on Thursday, June 26, 2025, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Owen Sound on March 24, 1941, Frederic Walter Warren of Owen Sound was in his 85th year.
Beloved husband of Nancy Warren (nee Buzza) for 58 years.Proud father of Lisa Warren of Owen Sound, Eric Warren (Kristen Hahn) of Guelph, Karen Kerr (Jeremy) of Owen Sound and Heather Warren (Shawn Johns) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandpa of Joshua Clements (Mariah McGriskin), Emily Clements, Erica Kerr and Marshall Johns. Dear brother of Kathryn Warren and brother-in-law of Cathy North, Sam Buzza and Mary Mackenzie (Ron).Fred will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Percy and Ethel Warren, by hisbrother Bill Warren, and by Nancy’s parents, Ross and Isabella Buzza.
Fred worked at Goodyear in Owen Sound for 30 years. He was an avid wood worker, reader and a great friend to everyone in the neighbourhood.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Dale Edwards and the team at Grey Bruce Residential Hospice – Chapman House, who provided compassionate support and care for Fred and his family during his final weeks.
In keeping with Fred’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 -8:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Fred’s life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
