Elliott LaRue Good

Elliott LaRue Good, devoted husband, father, brother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at his Oliphant home on October 9, 2025, at the age of 61, following a brief fight with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family at the time of his passing.
Elliott’s pride and joy was his family. He is survived and deeply missed by his doting wife, Sandra, and his loving sons, Wesley and Hayden, whom he considered the proudest achievement of his life. For Elliott, every day was better when ‘the boys’ were home, and he often joked that he never wanted them to leave the nest. Though his career took him across North America and Europe, his best travels were always those shared with Wesley and Hayden, from coast to coast in Canada, to adventures in the Caribbean. He is fondly remembered by his sister, Jan (Charles White); his in-laws, David Mallard (Cecile) and Kathleen Creighton (Bruce); and his mother-in-law, Jeanette Mallard.
Elliott now joins his parents, John and Helen Good; his brothers, Greg and Ted Good; his father-in-law, Jack Mallard; and his special canine companion, Lucy Magoo, who all predeceased him.
Outside of the home, Elliott found joy in music—whether attending concerts, listening loudly and proudly on the stereo, or playing his guitar. Despite being a shy player, his passion was clear through his impressive guitar collection. He left the world listening to some of his favourite tunes. He also found peace in the sanctuary he and Sandra created at Bowes Island, where he loved listening to nature, playing horseshoes, and simply reveling in what they had built. No task there felt like a chore; it was always rewarding. He forged decades of memories with the “brotherhood” in Killarney—sharing fantastical stories (the best of which stayed at the camp) during deer hunts, fishing trips, and snowmobile adventures. He was an unwavering friend and shared a lifetime of memories with those in Oliphant and beyond worthy of a movie on the big screen.
The family would like to express profound gratitude to the many special people who regularly dropped in, sent texts, delivered meals, and offered encouragement. Elliott felt all these kindnesses helped keep him tethered to life during his illness. A special thank you to Al, Cam, Dave, and Steve. The family is also eternally grateful for the kind and compassionate home care from his sister/nurse Jan White, Dr. David Diodoti, and Community Nurses Amber and Tammy from Care Partners. This exceptional team allowed Elliott to remain home and pass with dignity, pain-free.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 2 to 4 PM at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341. Please join his family to share laughter, memories, and appetizers, which Elliott always felt ‘capped off the night.’ We ask that you honor his memory not for the short illness that claimed him, but for the remarkable way he lived his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation – Wiarton or Bruce Peninsula Sportsmen Association are appreciated. Condolences may be expressed online at www.whitcroftfuneralhome.com
