Elizabeth Anne 'Liz' Reid

Elizabeth (Liz) Anne Reid of Owen Sound passed away peacefully at Chapman House, in her 90th year, surrounded by the love of her family on February 27th, 2026. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, cherished grandmother, proud great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to many.
Liz is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years of G.A. (Bud) Reid. Cherished mother of Shawn Reid (Wendy) and Missi Snider (Jim). Fondly remembered by former daughter-in-law Suzanne Reid (Saunders). Loving and proud grandma of Scott Reid (Susanne Viejou), Michael Reid (Laura), Jay Reid, Rob Snider (Tessa), Steve Snider (Jennifer Cheetham), Mark Snider (Melissa), Heather McTaggart (Snider). Best Gigi to Linnaea Viejou, Arlan Reid, Ella Reid, Jack Reid, James Snider, Mary Snider, Rose Snider, Parker Snider, Paige Snider, Benjamin Snider, Jack Snider, Maxwell Snider, Hudson Snider, Charleigh McTaggart, Brynlee McTaggart, Lachlan McTaggart, and Maverick McTaggart.
Predeceased by her parents Cecil and Gladys Baker, and her sister Lenore Traplin.
Liz had a heart full of fond and grateful memories of her parents and heartfelt pride in her own extended family. Nothing brought her greater joy than gathering her family together for tea time, swimming, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
She was known for her warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love. Elizabeth had a kind heart and a generous spirit, always offering support, encouragement, and comfort to those who needed it. Her home was a welcoming place, filled with love, conversation, and the comforting touches that made everyone feel at ease.
Elizabeth’s legacy lives on in the strong family she nurtured and the values she instilled – compassion, resilience, and devotion to one another. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. The family takes comfort in knowing that her love continues through the many lives she touched.
Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Liz’s life will be held by the blue waters of Georgian Bay at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
