Della passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Hospice “Chapman House” on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, just 3 days after celebrating her 100th birthday. Born in St. Vincent Township on November 2, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Annie (nee Clarke) Lambe.

Della was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon H. ‘Jack’ Ormsby in 1991.

She was the much-loved mother of Lorraine Hamill (Wayne), and proud grandmother of Dan Hamill (Shannon), Darryl Hamill (Sally), Dave Hamill (Mindy), Dale Hamill (Amber), and will be remembered fondly by Deanna Hamill. She was the wonderful great grandmother of twelve

She was predeceased by her brothers Walter and Wyman, and her sisters Betty, Dove, Effie, and Isla.

Della was an amazing woman, very talented and an extremely hard worker. She worked at Amerock in Meaford for over 40 years and co-farmed with her husband Jack. Della always made sure that the chores were done and that the animals and gardens were taken care of. Knitting, crocheting and tatting were just a few of Della’s talents. She had provided many treasured gifts and keepsakes for family and friends over the years. Della will be remembered as a kindhearted and hardworking woman who always made time for others.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Meaford United Church on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1 o’clock, family will receive friends for visiting the hour prior to service. A service of committal and interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
