Cornelius “Neil” Bouius of McCullough Lake, formerly of Durham, passed away at Chapman House, Owen Sound, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in his 87th year.

Beloved husband of Ruth (Abernethy) for 61 years. Cherished father of Peter (Julie), and Paul (Christine). Proud Grandpa to five grandchildren; Noah (Melody), Brianna, Jadon, Tristan and Eli. Loving brother of Gail Wagner, and brother-in-law of Eunice Abernethy. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and their families. Neil was predeceased by his siblings, Edith (Dick) Binnendyk, Binnie (Hank) Van Beek, Harry Bouius, Ann Haverson, and Rudi (Ria) Bouius, brothers-in-law Frank Wagner and Don Forrest and his parents, Gerrit and Wiebkje (Klaver) Bouius.

A funeral service honouring Neil’s life will take place at Rockcliffe Pentecostal Church, Owen Sound Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. , with visiting prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Private family interment in Mount Tegart Cemetery, Tottenham.
