Passed away peacefully at Grey Burce Hospice – Chapman House on Wednesday, July 3, 2025. Born in Bruce township on Monday, May 11, 1936, Albert “John” Arthur Smith of Owen Sound, was in his 90th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of the late Ruth Smith. Proud father of Barry Smith. Cherished grandfather of Seema Bains (Jonathan Gan) and Manjit Ford (Christopher), and great-grandfather of Patrick, Dev, Neesa, Jasmine, and Tristan. Dear brother of Vernetta Knox. John will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Elizabeth Smith, and siblings; Harvey Smith, Ornel Smith, Norinne Vance, and Verla Mae Smith.
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara, on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Brain E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
