The additional transit bus in Owen Sound that was scheduled to stop running earlier this week, will continue.
To accommodate the reduced ridership of passengers on transit within Owen Sound due to the Covid pandemic, the frequently used East Bayshore route was assigned an additional bus in February that was planned to end on March 31.
Rick Chappell, Supervisor of Environmental Services with the City of Owen Sound confirmed that the transit service as been extended until September 30, 2021, allowing residents to make use of it for a while longer.
The bus runs Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and departs from the Owen Sound Transit terminal, stopping at Walmart and the local hospital.
Maximum ridership remains at a limit of 10 people per bus and face coverings are also mandatory while riding and waiting inside the transit terminal.
