Pierce Mbuyi scored twice as the Owen Sound Attack beat Sarnia Sting 4-3 in an Ontario Hockey League school day game at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre Wednesday.
Max Delisle and Lucas Prud’homme also scored for the Attack (6-8-1), which extended its point-streak to five games.
Prud’homme’s goal was his first in the OHL.
Jonas Gulbrandsen, Cameron Aucoin and Carter Chadwick had the goals for Sarnia (6-8-1).
Attack goaltender Ryerson Leenders secured his 100th career OHL victory, moving into a tie for seventh on the league’s all-time wins list for goaltenders.
Owen Sound never trailed in the game, but things got a bit dicey in the dying seconds.
Chadwick’s goal came with 10 seconds remaining to cut the Attack lead to 4-3. And right off the faceoff, Tyler Challenger brought the puck up the left wing and got it to Alessandro Di Iorio in the slot — but his wrist shot went wide. Game over.
Leenders made 28 saves in the win, while Ivan Tkach-Tkachenko stopped 32 taking the loss.
Owen Sound will try for its fourth straight win Saturday when they host Windsor Spitfires in a Halloween day game at the Bayshore. It’s underway 2 p.m. Saturday.
