You can watch the MS Chi-Cheemaun’s marine evacuation system safety drill this morning in Owen Sound.
The Owen Sound Transportation Company says everyone is invited to come watch at 9 a.m. along the harbour.
Staff and Georgian College marine students will participate as passengers while the emergency exit system is deployed and a Zodiac boat tows the life raft to shore.
The MS Chi-Cheemaun is heading to dry dock in Hamilton this year rather than its usual place in the Owen Sound harbour.
The scheduled dry dock period supports mandatory inspections and maintenance to help ensure the vessel remains safe and reliable for future sailing seasons.
