Saugeen Shores has a new Deputy Fire Chief.
The Town says Anthony Woodruff brings more than 18 years of fire service experience across suppression, fire prevention, fire investigation, training, and municipal governance.
He holds a bachelor of applied arts in justice and public safety, a municipal administration program certificate, a fire service executive management certificate, and NFPA 1021 fire officer IV certification.
He is also a certified fire investigator and fire inspector, is qualified under the Ontario Building Code as a plans examiner and building inspector, and serves as an adjunct instructor and lead evaluator with the Ontario Fire College, delivering programs including hazardous materials and ice water rescue.
Woodruff his duties on September 21st and was formally appointment to deputy fire chief through a council by-law on September 28th. He succeeds Rob Atkinson, who was appointed to fire chief in July.
