Peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the age of 96.

Margery was born January 13, 1930 in Meaford, a daughter of the late Willliam & Oriole (nee Baker) Theakston.

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Craig in 1966.

Margery was the much-loved mother of Gerald (Penny) of Wisconsin. She was the treasured grandmother of Scott (Leanne), Tracey (Neil) Rutledge, David Craig, Daniel Craig; and great grandmother of Joshua, Ashleigh, Connor & Riley.
Margery was predeceased by her son Terrie, daughter-in-law Cathy, and her sister Merie White.

She will be remembered fondly by the Theakson and Craig families, and by many extended family members and friends.
At a young age Margery was interested in photography, she enjoyed developing and printing her own pictures. She was a talented oil painter and also enjoyed the craft of candle making. Margery was a dedicated employee at Amerock in Meaford for over 30 years.

A funeral service celebrating Margery’s life will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11 o’clock, committal and interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather to share stories and refreshments in the fellowship hall at the Meaford United Church following the interment.
