The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie has a new local appreciation and tourism initiative that invites you to go out and explore its communities.
It’s inviting you to explore and discover the landscapes, history and hidden gems that make the area special with the launch of its newest tourism initiative, Step in the Frame.
It’s a self-guided rural adventure featuring ten unique destinations throughout Arran-Elderslie. At each stop, visitors will find a custom selfie frame designed to capture the moment — but the Municipality is encouraging participants not to stop at the photo.
Mayor Steve Hammell says in a statement, “Step in the Frame is a fun way to welcome people into our communities and encourage them to see some of the great places we have right here in Arran-Elderslie,” adding, “You could visit all 10 locations in a day, but I’d encourage people to take a few days, slow down, shop locally and enjoy each of our towns. Whether you live here or are visiting for the first time, we hope you’ll get out, explore, take some pictures and have some fun along the way.”
Each frame marks a destination with its own story and character, from scenic river views and rural landmarks to heritage sites and local attractions. Participants are encouraged to explore beyond each frame and discover nearby trails, shops, restaurants, parks and other local experiences.
Beginning Tuesday, September 22, visitors can get a bonus Step in the Frame location at the Bruce County International Plowing Match and Rural Expo outside Walkerton.
Visitors to the IPM are invited to stop by the Bruce County Showcase area and find the special bonus frame.
The adventure is simple: find a frame, step in and take a photo, explore the area around you, and share your adventure using #StepInTheFrameTour. Participants who submit their photos can also be entered to win a $250 Arran-Elderslie prize package.
