The 2026-27 Ontario Hockey League regular season gets underway this week, and 89.3 CFOS is once again your home for all Owen Sound Attack games.
Matt Hermiz returns for his fifth full season as play-by-play voice of the Attack on CFOS, and Mark McKelvie will be joining him for colour commentary at select away games throughout the season. All 68 Owen Sound Attack regular season games, and all playoff games can be heard live on 89.3 CFOS, also streaming online at 89.3cfos.ca or through the Radioplayer Canada app.
It’s been an offseason of change for the Attack, with new ownership, a new president and general manager, and a new head coach. The changes extend to the radio broadcast with the longtime moniker Bear Radio being retired for a new title, Attack Hockey on 89.3 CFOS.
“As the Owen Sound Attack begin a new era with new ownership and a new direction, we felt this was the right time for our hockey coverage to evolve as well,” says 89.3 CFOS Program Director J.C. Coutts. “With CFOS making its own move forward on FM, we’ve retired the ‘Bear Radio’ name in favour of something simpler and clearer: ‘Attack Hockey on 89.3 CFOS.’”
Dutton Automotive and Power Sports and Terry’s Trailer Service are returning as title sponsors to bring you all of the Attack action during the 2026-27 OHL season.
It all gets underway Friday. The Attack open their campaign on the road against the defending Memorial Cup champions Kitchener Rangers. The Best Western Inn on the Bay pregame show begins at 6:30 p.m., with puck drop set for just after 7 p.m.
Saturday, the Attack play their home opener at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, the tail end of a duo against the Rangers to start the season.
