Northern Bruce Peninsula Council passed two motions to improve municipal infrastructure.
The first improvement will be on Tammy’s Cove Road, which requires reconstruction and hard surfacing in several sections, particularly between 158 and 192 Tammy’s Cove Road.
Council selected the recommended option: road realignment with direct access at a cost of $1,466,903.
The option will improve road safety by removing the existing intersection near 164 Tammy’s Cove Road. It will also provide direct access from the municipal road to properties currently reached by Old Tammy’s Cove Road, allowing those properties to receive winter road maintenance and curbside waste collection.
The second motion involves improving the Stokes Bay Road Bridge hydraulic capacity by removing bedrock that is obstructing water flow.
The $191,000 contract for the improvements primarily involves removing approximately 0.6 metres of bedrock beneath the bridge, along with necessary environmental protection, traffic control, water diversion, and dewatering measures.
