Provincial Police have charged an 80-year-old driver after a collision involving a construction flag worker in Northern Bruce Peninsula.
Grey Bruce OPP say they received a report just after 2:30 p.m. last Thursday (Aug. 13) that a traffic control person had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 6 and Caudle Side Road, north of Ferndale.
The construction flag worker, a 59-year-old Toronto man, was transported to hospital for treatment. Grey Bruce OPP say he suffered minor injuries.
“The vehicle fled the scene following the collision,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a release.
The OPP say an 80-year-old Northern Bruce Peninsula resident has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving and fail to remain.
“The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date,” Grey Bruce OPP say.
