A 31-year-old man is facing multiple charges after an incident at Harrison Park.
At around 12:45 on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 30th, a 13-year-old girl was accosted and grabbed from behind by an unknown man.
She was able to break free and get the attention of people nearby, who assured her safety and called city police.
The man, who tried to flee on foot, but members of the girl’s family and members of the public were able to intervene and help track the man while waiting for police to arrive.
The man, of no fixed address, was arrested.
He’s facing charges of assault, sexual assault, and breach of probation. He was initially held for bail, but was remanded into custody, where he remains.
