Peacefully at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Born in St. Vincent Township on April 29, 1933, B. E. Jean Long (nee Johnson) of Wasaga Beach was in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of the late Roy Long. Loving mother of Judith McLeod of B.C., Jonita Sommerville of Gadshill, Joyce McKenzie (Keith Cormier) of Wasaga Beach, Roy Long (Karen) of B.C. and Bradley Long (Joyce) of Chatham. Cherished grandma of 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Grace Risk (Mervin) and Allan Johnson (Jane). Sister-in-law of Jean Long and June Johnson. Jean will also be missed by her many, nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Walter and Margret Johnson, by 5 brothers and 2 sisters, and by her sons-in-law Gary McLeod and Wayne Sommerville.

Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
