Meaford council approved the purchase of land on Grey Road 11 at Monday’s meeting.
The 1.21 acres of land will add to just over two acres already owned by the municipality, which is utilized as an operations yard and administration building.
The land will cost $480,000. It will cost another $125,000 to prepare the property for use, as an existing structure needs to be demolished and a septic system decommissioned.
The goal for this new property, according to a report to council, is to allow for the expansion of Patrol B Operations (public works) as the community continues to develop in the northwest areas of the municipality.
