Ahead of the 2026 Bruce County International Plowing Match and Rural Expo, the organizing committee has officially opened its beautification contest.
The IPM’s organizers are encouraging residents, farmers, and businesses to enter.
Whether it’s working to clean up the yard or plant an inviting garden space, the purpose of the competition is to show community pride and make a great impression on participants of this year’s match.
The contest has seven different categories:
– Urban or Rural Home
– Century Farm
– Garden
– Business
– Farmstead
– Spirit of the Match
– Barn Quilt
To enter, there is a $100 entry fee, which will also include two tickets to the awards banquet that will be held on August 19th, where the top three entrants for each category will be awarded.
The registration deadline is June 1st.
The 2026 International Plowing Match will be held in Walkerton from September 22nd to the 26th.
The event brings one of Ontario’s largest rural events to the region for five days of agriculture, education, entertainment, and community celebration.
Bruce County and the surrounding area is preparing for thousands of visitors for the event.
