Bruce Power has signed a memorandum of understanding with SaskPower to share expertise as Saskatchewan explores the future of nuclear energy.
The agreement will focus on collaboration in nuclear generation, project development, and long-term operations, as Saskatchewan evaluates large-scale nuclear reactor technologies. This process will run alongside the province’s ongoing small modular reactor (SMR) project.
Officials say the partnership will support informed decision-making as Saskatchewan works to meet increasing electricity demand and position itself for future energy exports.
With much of Canada’s nuclear industry based in Ontario, Bruce Power will provide valuable experience from more than 25 years of operating its site, as well as insights from its proposed Bruce C expansion project.
The agreement also reflects growing interprovincial collaboration as governments and utilities across Canada look to nuclear energy as a reliable, low-carbon solution to meet future power needs.
