Marie Christie of Tara passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, April 13, 2026, in her 97th year.

Beloved mother of Jim (Helen), Larry (Heather), all of Tara, Janice (Bob) Caissie of Brantford, and loving mother-in-law of Rose (Bev) Webster of Tara. Cherished grandmother of ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Marie will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews in both the Reed and Christie families. She was predeceased by her husband R. Leslie, son Terry, three brothers, and five sisters.

Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2 – 5 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion service beginning at 1:45 p.m. A funeral service honouring Marie’s life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. A celebration of her life will follow from 2:30 – 5 p.m. at the Tara Legion. All are welcome! Spring interment in Chesley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either the Chesley or Tara Legion, Tara United Church, or Chesley Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
