Peacefully at Chapman House, Owen Sound on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Uriel Gates (nee Mole) of Owen Sound in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Carl Gates. Cherished mother of Mark Gates (Tara Steiner) of Owen Sound and mother-in-law of Sandra Gates-Catcher (Matthew) of Shallow Lake. Much loved grandmother of Justine, Kelly, and Scott and great-grandmother of many. Dear sister of Sandra Mole of Shallow Lake.

Predeceased by parents Martha (nee Friest) and Robert Mole, son Blaine, sisters Roberta Greig, Joan Dickinson, Wilda Moore, Evelyn Liske, Reta Ottewell, and Lillian Buckton and brothers Ralph Mole, Frank Mole, Jim Mole, and Charlie Mole.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Cemetery, Hepworth. Arrangements entrusted to the Downs and Son Funeral Home, Hepworth.
