A Grey Highlands driver is charged after a hydro pole was knocked down in Southgate.
Wellington County OPP say at about 4:15 p.m., Friday March 20th, they responded alongside local emergency services received a report of a single vehicle collision involving a hydro pole at the intersection of Southgate Sideroad 49 and Highway 89, just outside Mount Forest.
OPP say they arrived to find a hydro pole was struck and hydro wires were over the road, while the vehicle involved was discovered on its roof in a nearby field.
According to police, the driver was able to escape the vehicle and was sent to local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. They say no one else was in the vehicle and no one else was injured.
A 23-year-old of Grey Highlands is charged with impaired operation and dangerous operation.
Their drivers licence is suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven.
