Saugeen Shores police say they have laid charges in connection to a home invasion and robbery.
On February 28th 2026, at approximately 12:40p.m., Saugeen Shores Police were dispatched to a residential address in Port Elgin for a home invasion that had taken place where a home owner was allegedly assaulted and personal items were stolen.
Police attended and obtained a description of the suspect. They say shortly after, a person matching the description of the suspect was located on a nearby street and placed under arrest. Saugeen Shores police say a search incident to arrest recovered the stolen items.
OPP say a 23-year-old male of Neyaashiinigmiing was charged with the following offences:
– Break and enter (residence)
– Robbery with theft
– Assault with a weapon
– Mischief
– Possession of property obtained by crime
– Fail to comply with probation
He was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
