Suddenly at home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born on Friday the 13th, August 1954.

Loving husband and best friend to Donna (née Beatty) for 46 years. Proud dad of Leslie (Steve) and Brad (Alicia). Cherished Grandpa of Travis, Raelee, and Hunter McCartney; and Lucas and Jaxon Ingles. Big brother of Debbie Smeltzer (Brian) and Ken. Brother-in-law of Evelyn Lawrence (Paul) and Jane Mattchet. Uncle of Mona Lawrence, and Matt, Kevin, Shannon, and Sherri Smeltzer, and their families; and Adam, Andrew and Carley Ingles and their families.

Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Berniece “Pat” Ingles (née Thomson), and his nephew Scott Lawrence.

“Jingles” worked as hard as he played. He spent 40 years with Harold Sutherland Construction and enjoyed many years as an avid snowmobiler, fisherman, and volunteer—activities that led to many friendships that became family. Ron was a reluctant but newly enthusiastic fan of the Blue Jays.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, 1450 2nd Ave W, Owen Sound, ON N4K 4N7, on December 6, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
