William George 'Bill' Barnard

Peacefully at Grey Bruce Hospice on October 17th, 2025. Born in Owen Sound on September 10, 1946, William George Barnard of Owen Sound, was in his 80th year.
Beloved husband of Gayle Barnard (nee Wilson) of Owen Sound. Loving father of Jason Barnard (Virginia) of Kemble, Warren Barnard (Sherry) of Stayner and Ian Barnard (Kate) of Kilsyth. Cherished grandpa of Austin, Eric, Alyssa, Makayla, Max and Lillian, and step-grandpa of Graydon. Dear brother of Donna Robbins and brother-in-law of Paul Beattie (Norma) and Doug Wilson (Debbie). Bill will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents George and Lillian Barnard (nee Willings), and his brother-in-law Ronald Robbins.
Bill was the proud owner of Barnard’s Fuels after his father’s passing (George), later founded and owned Barnard’s Truck Sales and Services Ltd. A dedicated lifelong sports fan, Bill especially enjoyed hockey and cherished watching his sons and grandchildren play. A true county music lover, Bill watched proudly as he watched his son Warren perform across Canada and the US.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Monday October 27th from 7-9 p.m. A private funeral service will be held to celebrate Bill’s life. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
