The Owen Sound Attack bolstered their blueline with the addition of overage defenceman Noah Roberts.
The Attack yesterday announced the acquisition of Roberts, 19, from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for three draft picks — Owen Sound’s third-round selection in 2026, as well as fifth rounders in 2028 (Peterborough) and 2029.
Roberts is a 6-foot-1 left-shot defenceman and son of NHL alumnus Gary Roberts. The Attack will be the third team he’s played for in the OHL, after being drafted in the third round by then the Hamliton Bulldogs in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.
“We are all very excited about the opportunity of bringing Noah Roberts to Owen Sound,” Owen Sound Attack GM Dale DeGray says in a release. “Noah has proven over the last number of years of being a hard to play against tough nose defender. He will be a welcomed addtion to our group on the blueine. He will play big minutes and is an elite penalty killer, and a shot blocker.”
The Attack also announced Monday the departure of forward Declan Waddick, who cleared waivers. Waddick, 20, is also an overage player this season. He spent two seasons in Owen Sound, putting up 59 points (27-32–59) in 126 games.
