It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Randy Keating, on August 11, 2025, at the age of 70. To us, he was dad and grandpa, but to many, he was Scruff.

He has been reunited with his son Jamie, who left this earth before him. But leaves behind his son Nick Keating and wife Emily, his daughter Naomi Atwell and husband Cody and his daughter-in-law Jennifer Keating. If you chatted with Randy at all, you probably had the pleasure of hearing about his seven grandchildren: Logan, Carter, Olivia, Addyson, Braden, Harlan and Warren.

He leaves behind his extended family, the Lambe’s, Dave and Sue Lambe, Blake and Steph Lambe and Cailey Lambe, as well as his entire Grandma Lambe’s family. He also leaves behind his sister Sheila, as well as his niece Melanie and nephew Donald. Our dad will also be greatly missed by his entire Campbell family and the mother of his children, Cindie.

Randy leaves behind many great friends and teammates! He is also being reunited with his beautiful mother, Ethel and his father, Harry. If you played ball in Meaford, guaranteed he has influenced your game in some way. From his days of fastball, slo-pitch, coaching, organizing tournaments and most recently, watching his grand-boys play, he loved the sport! He proudly carries some hockey titles for the town of Meaford. But hung up his skates in the past few years and has taken up watching his grandsons play instead.

We take great pride in knowing that our dad had so many people who loved and cared for him. But we also know he’d hate all this fuss for him. So, in honouring Randy’s wishes, we will be throwing him a celebration of life at the Lambe Barn. His party will be held on Saturday, August 30th, from 2 until 6 p.m. Scruff knew how to throw a party, let’s honour him by getting together, sharing some stories and having a drink for him! Come casually, we all know Scruff didn’t love getting dressed up!
