West Grey saw a large uptick in building permit revenue during the second quarter this year compared to 2024.
Council reviewed the number of permits issued as well as permit revenue from residential, agricultural, commercial, institutional, and industrial builds during its meeting on Tuesday.
The municipality issued 77 permits during the second quarter, unchanged from 2024.
Some of the permits issued include eight for new homes, 18 for new agricultural buildings, and one new institutional building.
Year to date, however, the municipality is slipping slightly behind 2024 with 115 permits issued so far this year, and 125 issued during the same time frame in 2024.
Both project value and revenue from the second quarter, however, more than doubled from 2024.
Project value came in at over $36 million compared to the $12.7 million in 2024.
The municipality has also raked in over $141,000 in permit revenues during the second quarter versus the over $69,000 in 2024.
