A change of plans: Peavey Mart stores in Owen Sound and Walkerton will be closing after all.
Sources confirm to Bayshore Broadcasting News employees at those locations have been informed their stores will be closing down, as part of a broader shut down of all Peavey Mart stores across Canada. The company has not issued an official statement to confirm or responded to a request for comment yet.
Last Tuesday, Peavey Industries announced the closure of 22 Ontario locations as part of an “organizational restructuring.”
At the time, a company spokesperson responded to a question from Bayshore News saying “I want to assure you that the Owen Sound and Walkerton locations of Peavey Mart will remain open.”
But sources have confirmed to Bayshore News employees at the Peavey Mart locations in Owen Sound and Walkerton have since been briefed on the company’s plan to close the stores. There’s no indication yet about a potential date for when the stores will shut their doors.
