West Grey council is approving the rebuild of a stretch of Park Street as part of a 10-year capital plan.
During a meeting on May 2, council received a report from Director of Operations and Development and Chief Building Official Karl Schipprack.
It recommended council direct its staff to complete engineering for the urbanization of about 550 meters of Park Street following JT Excavating’s previous delegation on April 4, as well as enter into an agreement with the company for the urbanization and installation of underground utilities for about 230 meters of Park Street.
The report says the reconstruction of Park Street to Garafraxa Street is on the municipality’s 10-year capital plan, with reconstruction proposed for 2029. The section of road is about 550 meters long, and JT Excavating is proposing to complete the reconstruction of about 230 meters, with the remaining 320 to be completed by West Grey at any time in the next 10 years.
The work includes the reconstruction of curbs, gutters, and storms sewers.
