One lane of 2nd Avenue East in Owen Sound has reopened and people have returned to their homes after damage to a gas line caused the closure of 2nd Avenue West from 10th Street to 11th Street.
A fire official says a construction company working in the area ruptured a gas line.
As of 6 p.m. Thursday, police and Enbridge were on scene.
The fire department says anyone directly affected was asked to evacuate their homes for a period of time this afternoon.
