The Durham Hospital’s emergency department is going to close temporarily overnight today and tomorrow.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) says the department will be closed as of 5 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. Oct. 30.
It will close again at 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 and reopen at 7 a.m. Oct. 31.
Ambulances will begin diverting patients to the closest open emergency department at 5 p.m.
The SBGHC says all efforts to find staffing for the department have been undertaken without success.
The closest emergency departments to the Durham Hospital are Hanover, Mount Forest, Markdale, Walkerton, Owen Sound, and Palmerston.
