Tyler Hopkins scored and finished with three points as Guelph Storm cruised past Owen Sound Attack 5-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Timothy Kazda, Ethan Czata, Ryan Roobroeck and Patrick Babin also scored for Guelph (2-2), which found four unanswered after the Attack tie the game 1-1 early in the second period.
Pierce Mbuyi had the lone goal the Attack (1-3), a one-time blast on a 5-on-3 power play just over five minutes into the second.
The Storm led 1-0 after one, and 3-1 after two, and then found a couple more in the third.
The Attack have now lost three straight.
Ben Hrebik made 25 saves in the win, while Ryerson Leenders stopped 35 taking the loss. The Storm outshot the Attack 40-26 while going 2 for 7 on the power play; Owen Sound finished 1 for 6.
Next up for the Attack is back to back home games next weekend — Oct. 3-4 — against Windsor and Brantford.
