There is still time to nominate an Afro-Caribbean youth for the 2026 Afro-Caribbean Youth Awards, but nominations close Sept. 20.
The fourth annual Afro-Caribbean Youth Awards celebrate youth living in Grey and Bruce counties who demonstrate creativity, leadership, cultural dignity, academic merit, community involvement, social justice advocacy, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the ability to inspire and empower others. Awards are also given to those who contribute through music, art, drama or dance, or who champion change and opportunity for all.
The 2026 Afro-Caribbean Youth Awards ceremony takes place Oct. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s ceremony will feature guest speakers from The Why Not Agency, a service-based marketing agency that emphasizes diverse storytelling and equity in Canada. The event is free to attend.
