Saugeen Shores native Dillon Atkinson has signed with the Owen Sound Attack.
The Ontario Hockey League team announced Tuesday afternoon the 18-year-old forward signed a standard player education & development agreement.
Atkinson spent the past two seasons in the Greater Ontario Hockey League with the St. Catharines Falcons. The 5-foot-10, 183-pound forward had 47 points (18-29–47) in 48 games for the Falcons in the 2025-26 campaign.
Now, he has a chance to play for the OHL team he grew up watching with his family. Atkinson is a graduate of the Grey Bruce Highlanders, and grew up playing Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey.

As a young kid I went to countless games, got countless autographs, played countless intermission games on the Bayshore ice, and I’ve always known that one day I wanted to play for the Owen Sound Attack. My poppa was a longtime season ticket holder, and I just know how big he would be smiling down on me from up above right now,” Atkinson says in a team release. “This means the world to not only me, but also my entire family who have supported me through all the highs and lows of this exciting journey so far. Seeing how proud my parents are and how happy they are to see me wear the Attack jersey is one very special feeling. I cannot wait to bring some exciting hockey back to the Bayshore and bring this city the championship that they deserve.”
